Rough night.

Nature is having one of its busy weeks. Earlier this week the earthquake, not quite a shock as we were only woke by the vibrations. Though the storm of last night caused some actual damage.


Fences blown away on both sides of the garden. Not onlly our garden or the neighbours, but also the fences of their neighbours and theirs...
Well, it is only material damage. It could have been worse.

Hope you are ok? We had a pretty windy night, but I've yet to look out of the window to see if there has been any damage.

Wat een ravage, is de storm bij jullie nu overgetrokken?
Hier trekt de storm nu nog steeds over en een uur geleden is een stuk van het dak van de schuur eraf gewaaid. Weer heel wat pannetjes kapot :os. Maar ook hier gelukkig alleen materiële schade. Hopen dat we dat zo houden en dat het snel over trekt.

jee wat een storm! gelukkig geen gewonden. Hier stormde het ook behoorlijk.
hoop dat het je niet teveel tijd kost alles weer overeind te krijgen.

Sorry about the damage. It may only be fence panels but it is a pian having to sort out the repairs etc.

I expected to lose ridge tiles off the roof but we didn't, more good luck than good judgement.

Het sneeuwt... alweer. Echt zo'n dag om binnen te blijven. Dan... verrassing! Postbode aan de deur met een pakketje voor mij! Natuurlijk meteen aan de slag gegaan om te neuzen wat er in zat, kan ook moeilijk anders met D. die dan weer erg nieuwsgierig is. Yarn contest

Every once in a while I enter my name in a yarn contest at someones blog. Not that I ever did win something :-). But I like the idea and that is why I decided to do a small contest on this blog. Rules are simple, you have only to enter your name and tell me your favourite colourway on my Rainbow blog. That will help me to determine what colourway(s) I should dye more often. What you could win is Riverside , a skein of 75% Blue Faced Leicester/ 25% nylon sock yarn. Superwash treated, hard wearing and non felting. The yarn has a greatly soft feel and is hand painted. The skein is approximately 100 grams (3.5 oz) and 350 meter (383 yard). Fingering weight, recommended needle size is 2.5 mm. With the skein a set of 4 stitch markers, hand crafted by Dory and me. The mittens and one UFO finished

No more gifts came free yet, half of the yarn is used. I am making up my mind what to knit with the rest of the yarn, jumping between a headband, wrist warmers, a hat, baby booties... And I finally finished one of my hibernating projects, a skirt for Dory, made of hand spun wool, dyed with natural dyed. I like how it turned out.
