Laaaaang geleden, het was nog ergens in de eerste helft van 2009, kreeg ik van Olga lontwol in een swap. Met de prachtige gekleurde merino ben ik vorige maand aan het spelen gegaan. Eerst wat kleuren bij elkaar gekaard. Vervolgens aan het spinnen gegaan. Op de spoel zag het er al veelbelovend uit. Getwijnd werd het alleen maar mooier. En toen ben ik aan het breien geslagen. Dergelijke wol opbreien blijft verrassend en het resultaat is - in mijn opinie - een prachtige muts geworden. Top-down en van het restant van de wol kon het bolletje gemaakt worden. Dat bolletje was een vereiste van Dory, dat maakt een muts pas helemaal af. Een heerlijk warme muts en met deze witte winter volop in gebruik!

First of all the Jayne Hat for Dorrit. Just beautiful! Dory loves the pompom. My friend Darcy spoiled us again! Her parcel arrived days ago, my sincere apologies for posting about these wonderful gifts this late. Needless to say how happy Dory was with all the sweets. :-) The sheepy dish cloths are so cute! There was another Jayne Hat in the parcel, knitted by Tom for me. I think he did a brilliant job! And there was more. Knitting magazines, buttons and pins and a book of the Yarn Harlot. Kool Aid, a crocheted dish cloth, delicious coffee and Malabrigo Stonechat, so soft and beautiful! Darcy, thanks so much for these thoughtful gifts!

They are finished! Easy peasy to knit and they fit well. Although if I do them again I won't go for the seed-stitch heelflap, it makes the heels a bit too wide. And then a Tri-Peak hat . Easily knitted and kitchenered,I think it took not 3 hours. The wool is the handspun Corriedale I got from Sarah , brilliantly hand dyed by Dory . When I saw the Tri-Peak I suddenly knew this wool was perfect for it.
