My sons

I have four sons and one daughter. DD is the youngest and will be three years in April. Her brothers are much older. The eldest two live on their own, son three and four are fifteen and twelve years old and living with us. They don't want me to publish their pictures in this blog, so here a photo ;)



Personally I am not allowed to tell their (fake) names or even mention their existence on this blog. Though my twelve year old told me yesterday he did not bother that much anymore. "There is nobody out there who will read it anyway."

Het sneeuwt... alweer. Echt zo'n dag om binnen te blijven. Dan... verrassing! Postbode aan de deur met een pakketje voor mij! Natuurlijk meteen aan de slag gegaan om te neuzen wat er in zat, kan ook moeilijk anders met D. die dan weer erg nieuwsgierig is. Het begin was al veelbelovend: Een lief kaartje erbij van mijn geheime swapmaatje die schreef al vaker iets voor me samen te hebben gesteld en dat het niet mee was gevallen weer iets nieuws te verzinnen... Iets dat ik heel goed begrijp. Vervolgens zijn we gaan uitpakken, altijd handig met een paar extra handen erbij. En dit is het resultaat: Mooi!!! Yarn contest

Every once in a while I enter my name in a yarn contest at someones blog. Not that I ever did win something :-). But I like the idea and that is why I decided to do a small contest on this blog. Rules are simple, you have only to enter your name and tell me your favourite colourway on my Rainbow blog. That will help me to determine what colourway(s) I should dye more often. What you could win is Riverside , a skein of 75% Blue Faced Leicester/ 25% nylon sock yarn. Superwash treated, hard wearing and non felting. The yarn has a greatly soft feel and is hand painted. The skein is approximately 100 grams (3.5 oz) and 350 meter (383 yard). Fingering weight, recommended needle size is 2.5 mm. With the skein a set of 4 stitch markers, hand crafted by Dory and me. The mittens and one UFO finished

No more gifts came free yet, half of the yarn is used. I am making up my mind what to knit with the rest of the yarn, jumping between a headband, wrist warmers, a hat, baby booties... And I finally finished one of my hibernating projects, a skirt for Dory, made of hand spun wool, dyed with natural dyed. I like how it turned out.
