The 'small project' knitting bag

My friend Darcy sent me this cute -and appropriate for its purpose- fabric to make two of those little knitting bags with just enough room to hold a small knitting project, such as a pair of socks or a soaker. One bag is hers already and this weekend I sewed the other bag for myself. The bag is fully lined for sturdiness and closes with a cord and cord locker. And, as showed, already in use.



On the needles the beginning of a pair toe up socks. I am using Opal sock wool, but don't ask what type this is, the label is missing. Those socks will be for DS-15. He loves it when the socks are not striping equal and he loves blue.

Wat een mooi tasje en ontzettend leuke stof.
Ik wil me het sokken breien toch ook eens eigen gaan maken; lijkt me heerlijk werk voor tussendoor :)

I have my socks in my matching sock project bag.Almost done one is done the other need to rip back on heel somehow I have 5 extra stitches I have put it down to knit a little something for a friend;) Darcy

Every once in a while I enter my name in a yarn contest at someones blog. Not that I ever did win something :-). But I like the idea and that is why I decided to do a small contest on this blog. Mini Swap

Het sneeuwt... alweer. Echt zo'n dag om binnen te blijven. Dan... verrassing! Postbode aan de deur met een pakketje voor mij! Natuurlijk meteen aan de slag gegaan om te neuzen wat er in zat, kan ook moeilijk anders met D. die dan weer erg nieuwsgierig is. Het begin was al veelbelovend: Een lief kaartje erbij van mijn geheime swapmaatje die schreef al vaker iets voor me samen te hebben gesteld en dat het niet mee was gevallen weer iets nieuws te verzinnen... Iets dat ik heel goed begrijp. Vervolgens zijn we gaan uitpakken, altijd handig met een paar extra handen erbij. En dit is het resultaat: Mooi!!! Hier de foto's van dichtbij om een en ander te verduidelijken. Een zeer persoonlijke rolcentimeter (is dit wel een Nederlands woord?), prachtig paars en voorzien van naam. How Charity Wool became a Baby Cardigan

A while ago I bought some terrific yarn in one of those st Luke's Hospice shops for a nice price. Soft enough, superwash, 20% lambs/ 80% merino. Only the colour, sage, was not to my liking. After the dyebath it looked like this Now, a few months later, I've knitted 3 skeins into this pretty cardigan, better known as Helena Really a pleasure to knit. Now it is packed and tomorrow it will be in the post to this precious baby girl.
