Bugged Tape Measures

What to do on a Sunday afternoon, with a little sick girl next to you on the sofa. Well, I decorated two tape measures. Easily and quickly done, only some leftover yarn needed.

Every once in a while I enter my name in a yarn contest at someones blog. Not that I ever did win something :-). But I like the idea and that is why I decided to do a small contest on this blog. Rules are simple, you have only to enter your name and tell me your favourite colourway on my Rainbow blog. That will help me to determine what colourway(s) I should dye more often. What you could win is Riverside , a skein of 75% Blue Faced Leicester/ 25% nylon sock yarn. Superwash treated, hard wearing and non felting. The yarn has a greatly soft feel and is hand painted. The skein is approximately 100 grams (3.5 oz) and 350 meter (383 yard). Fingering weight, recommended needle size is 2.5 mm. With the skein a set of 4 stitch markers, hand crafted by Dory and me. Oisterwijkse wandeling

Vandaag hebben we een flinke wandeling gemaakt, D en ik. Behoorlijk nat, want het bleef maar regenen. Later las ik dat het de koudste 6 oktober ooit was... nou ja, sinds zulks bijgehouden wordt. Hier in het zuidoosten werd het in ieder geval niet warmer dan 9.2. Desondanks hebben we met veel plezier in het bos gelopen. Zo mooi in herfstkleuren! Veel foto's hebben we echter niet gemaakt, water en telefoons zijn nu eenmaal geen goede combinatie. Maar hier toch een impressie, alles gefotografeerd van onder een paraplu! Onderweg hebben we prachtige paddenstoelen gezien, maar slechts een groepje is fatsoenlijk op de foto gekomen. Dus bij deze, speciaal vanwege de herfst.

How Charity Wool became a Baby Cardigan

A while ago I bought some terrific yarn in one of those st Luke's Hospice shops for a nice price. Soft enough, superwash, 20% lambs/ 80% merino. Only the colour, sage, was not to my liking. After the dyebath it looked like this Now, a few months later, I've knitted 3 skeins into this pretty cardigan, better known as Helena Really a pleasure to knit. Now it is packed and tomorrow it will be in the post to this precious baby girl.
