Snowy days

Yes, here we have snow as well. It was only a thin layer to begin with, but the children had fun anyway.

As long as one can throw snowballs it is okay.

Since Sunday we have a lot more snow to play with.



So the mittens I made are in use already. The cuffs are knit of Superwash wool, the mittens of Malabrigo Melilla. The Malabrigo was supposed to felt, the Superwash should not shrink.

It worked, the mittens have a perfect fit. Oh, this 'felting and not felting' is not my idea, just followed Techknitting.

My apologies for the somewhat blurry photo. Though the scratches on the floor are there in real.

the mitts turned out great! the felting worked obviously, and good idea to do the cuffs in superwash...

Ik heb geen idee hoeveel steken ik hiervoor moet opzetten...

De foto's in de sneeuw zijn echt schattig;)

@ Morgan: ik ben zelf dolblij dat de Superwash ook niet per ongeluk kromp, ik had uiteraard geen proeflapje eerst gebreid en deze gewassen.

@ Darcy: she wears that hat a lot, she loves it.

@ Christel: ik heb 36 steken opgezet met naald 3.5 en daar de boord mee gebreid. Voor de wanten zelf heb ik gemeerderd tot 48 steken en deze als het ware om mijn hand en duim heen gebreid op naald 5. Ik heb wel gezocht naar een patroon, maar uiteindelijk gewoon uit het hoofd gebreid. Na het vilten paste de want precies om D.'s hand.

die sneeuwpret missen we hier in Frankrijk, wat een leuke foto's! En prachtige handschoenen!!
