Toe up socks finished.

I know, the ribbed legs look very tight, but this fits DS-15's slim feet and legs best. Don't ask silly questions about the size, I really don't know. We tried them on his feet as we go! He is very pleased with them and will wear them most in weekends or during the holidays as he needs plain black or charcoal grey socks for school.


I used Opal sock yarn. Don't know what type since the label is missing. DS-12 wants a pair of socks too now, something 'with red'.

Mooi patroon heeft de wol gemaakt. Ik moet toch echt het sokkenbreien ook eens in de vingers krijgen, lijkt me toch wel erg leuk om eens tussendoor te doen.

Bedankt, voordeel van patroongaren. Sokken breien is inderdaad een ideaal werkje voor tussendoor en vrij snel af.

Het sneeuwt... alweer. Echt zo'n dag om binnen te blijven. Dan... verrassing! Postbode aan de deur met een pakketje voor mij! Natuurlijk meteen aan de slag gegaan om te neuzen wat er in zat, kan ook moeilijk anders met D. die dan weer erg nieuwsgierig is. Yarn contest

Every once in a while I enter my name in a yarn contest at someones blog. Not that I ever did win something :-). But I like the idea and that is why I decided to do a small contest on this blog. Rules are simple, you have only to enter your name and tell me your favourite colourway on my Rainbow blog. That will help me to determine what colourway(s) I should dye more often. What you could win is Riverside , a skein of 75% Blue Faced Leicester/ 25% nylon sock yarn. Superwash treated, hard wearing and non felting. The yarn has a greatly soft feel and is hand painted. The skein is approximately 100 grams (3.5 oz) and 350 meter (383 yard). Fingering weight, recommended needle size is 2.5 mm. With the skein a set of 4 stitch markers, hand crafted by Dory and me.
