Two parcels in one day!

Okay, it is not my intention to mention every delivery on this blog. But those two are very special. First the postman rang and gave us a large heavy jiffy envelope. Doortje jumped up and down and opened it. "It is a present!" she called out. And she was right. The content of this parcel was a wonderful princess book I had to read aloud several times.


Just after that the doorbell rang again and there was the delivery service of Royal Mail. This time with the package I had awaited quite long: one of the missing parcels from the Netherlands, hurray! It seems as if the Post Office in the Netherlands did not know the UK is in Europe since a while ;) and put a custom form on the parcel. Maybe they mingled UK with US, maybe it was even sent to the US?
However, the organic wool in it has a lovely color, the natural hank is meant to dye in matching colors. And I have to think what cardigan to knit with it. Any ideas?

Altijd leuk een postbode met pakjes :) Tja wat te breien: welke dikte is de wol en hoeveel heb je ervan?

200 gram roze en 100 gram extra kleur. Naalddikte 4.5-5 mm. Het moet echt iets als een vest worden. De wol is net iets te stug om op de huid te dragen, dit wist ik trouwens van tevoren ;).

Leuk boek is dat, wij hebben hier het boek met de knusteltips voor prinssesen, ook heel leuk, (dat boek is een stuk kleiner)

Bedankt voor het meedenken! Ik heb al wat aardige patroontjes voorbij zien komen, hier kan ik weer wat ideeen uit putten. Ik weet nog niet zeker wat het wordt, tijdens het opzetten verander ik soms nog van gedachte ;).

Het sneeuwt... alweer. Echt zo'n dag om binnen te blijven. Dan... verrassing! Postbode aan de deur met een pakketje voor mij! Natuurlijk meteen aan de slag gegaan om te neuzen wat er in zat, kan ook moeilijk anders met D. die dan weer erg nieuwsgierig is. Yarn contest

Every once in a while I enter my name in a yarn contest at someones blog. Not that I ever did win something :-). But I like the idea and that is why I decided to do a small contest on this blog. Rules are simple, you have only to enter your name and tell me your favourite colourway on my Rainbow blog. That will help me to determine what colourway(s) I should dye more often. What you could win is Riverside , a skein of 75% Blue Faced Leicester/ 25% nylon sock yarn. Superwash treated, hard wearing and non felting. The yarn has a greatly soft feel and is hand painted. The skein is approximately 100 grams (3.5 oz) and 350 meter (383 yard). Fingering weight, recommended needle size is 2.5 mm. With the skein a set of 4 stitch markers, hand crafted by Dory and me.
