Socks!









I love to wear hand knitted socks. I have knitted myself 3 pairs almost two years ago, and they are really wearing out. So I have to knit some new pairs. This time I do magic loop and two socks at the same time instead of DPN's and one sock. It was fun using this method. When one sock is finished, the second is also and that is fantastic! These socks are knit toe-up, the method I prefer for sock knitting. The yarn used is 100% BFL and hand dyed at home. About the colours: the photo of the finished socks are the most true colours. It is difficult photographing purples.

Ze lijken me heerlijk warm, nu het eindelijk een beetje winter wil worden. Mooie kleuren, paars is zeker moeilijk fotograveren ;o)

Het sneeuwt... alweer. Echt zo'n dag om binnen te blijven. Dan... verrassing! Postbode aan de deur met een pakketje voor mij! Natuurlijk meteen aan de slag gegaan om te neuzen wat er in zat, kan ook moeilijk anders met D. die dan weer erg nieuwsgierig is. Het begin was al veelbelovend: Een lief kaartje erbij van mijn geheime swapmaatje die schreef al vaker iets voor me samen te hebben gesteld en dat het niet mee was gevallen weer iets nieuws te verzinnen... Yarn contest

Every once in a while I enter my name in a yarn contest at someones blog. Not that I ever did win something :-). But I like the idea and that is why I decided to do a small contest on this blog. Rules are simple, you have only to enter your name and tell me your favourite colourway on my Rainbow blog. That will help me to determine what colourway(s) I should dye more often. What you could win is Riverside , a skein of 75% Blue Faced Leicester/ 25% nylon sock yarn. Superwash treated, hard wearing and non felting. The yarn has a greatly soft feel and is hand painted. The skein is approximately 100 grams (3.5 oz) and 350 meter (383 yard). Fingering weight, recommended needle size is 2.5 mm. With the skein a set of 4 stitch markers, hand crafted by Dory and me.
