More knitted items

The dress is made with 300 grams King Cole Merino. I have purchased the Aran colour and kettle dyed it in my own chosen colourway. It is knitted top-down, following my own pattern. After the increases for the skirt I finished the sleeves and neck first. Then I knitted the skirt until there was only 1 metre of yarn left. The dress fits perfectly well and it will fit another season. Doortje loves to wear it, it is soft and warm.

And I have made another pair of longies. These were made with a regular Merino, kettle dyed in 'Dusty Rose'. They are fitting tight and were a excellent guinea-pig to try cabling for a long, almost forgotten, time. I like how they turned out.

Het sneeuwt... alweer. Echt zo'n dag om binnen te blijven. Dan... verrassing! Postbode aan de deur met een pakketje voor mij! Natuurlijk meteen aan de slag gegaan om te neuzen wat er in zat, kan ook moeilijk anders met D. die dan weer erg nieuwsgierig is. Het begin was al veelbelovend: Een lief kaartje erbij van mijn geheime swapmaatje die schreef al vaker iets voor me samen te hebben gesteld en dat het niet mee was gevallen weer iets nieuws te verzinnen... Yarn contest

Every once in a while I enter my name in a yarn contest at someones blog. Not that I ever did win something :-). But I like the idea and that is why I decided to do a small contest on this blog. Rules are simple, you have only to enter your name and tell me your favourite colourway on my Rainbow blog. That will help me to determine what colourway(s) I should dye more often. What you could win is Riverside , a skein of 75% Blue Faced Leicester/ 25% nylon sock yarn. Superwash treated, hard wearing and non felting. The yarn has a greatly soft feel and is hand painted. The skein is approximately 100 grams (3.5 oz) and 350 meter (383 yard). Fingering weight, recommended needle size is 2.5 mm. With the skein a set of 4 stitch markers, hand crafted by Dory and me.
